HOMELESS PRENATAL PROGRAM’S “OUR HOUSE” EVENT
CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF FAMILY SUCCESS
San Francisco, CA, April 13, 2010 --- The Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP), a San Francisco-based nonprofit organization, celebrates 20 years of working with families to end the cycle of childhood poverty at its “Our House” event on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at 7:00pm. The “Our House” event includes gourmet food, fine wines, and a silent auction, held at the HPP offices at 2500 – 18th Street in San Francisco (Mission/Potrero Hill area). Proceeds will benefit HPP’s programs, which served more than 3,600 San Francisco families last year.
The San Francisco Foundation and the Tipping Point Community will be honored at the event. The San Francisco Foundation awarded Homeless Prenatal Program its first grant over 20 years ago, and has actively supported the organization’s development over the years. Tipping Point Community recently gave Homeless Prenatal Program $200,000, investing in measuring the impact of HPP’s programs for the future.
HPP’s Founder and Executive Director, Martha Ryan (R.N, FNP) said that “the San Francisco Foundation truly gave birth to HPP and our new ideas for working with pregnant women to help them transform their lives for the sake of their families. With their support and contributions from many other foundations and individual donors, we’ve helped thousands of women escape domestic violence, have healthy babies, find housing and jobs, and transform their lives. Our clients have gone on to complete their education, send their children to college, start small businesses, and purchase their own homes. Tipping Point recognized our impact and has invested in our future sustainability, so we can measure our impact on families and ensure that our programs effectively address the problems these women face every day.”
“Our House” is chaired by Moira Kimball and Helen Hughes, longtime supporters of Homeless Prenatal Program. Individual tickets are $100, and sponsorship opportunities range from $600 to $25,000.
